Reaction of the Malta Hotels & Restaurants Association (MHRA) The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA) is satisfied with the ‘Tourism Recovery Plan’ as announced by the Hon Clayton Bartolo, Minister of Tourism and Consumer Protection following extensive consultation with our members. The Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Clayton Bartolo has launched Malta’s Tourism Recovery Plan through which a number of action points will be put in place in the coming weeks and months as Malta starts preparing for the gradual opening of the tourism sector from the beginning of June. The tourism recovery plan for the local industry involves a funding injection of around € 20 million to help recuperate “the sector hit most by the Covid-19 pandemic” and help those struggling in the tourism industry.
