VisitMalta’s PR and marketing activity overseas has been instrumental in driving Malta’s tourism recovery. In 2023, Malta achieved record-breaking tourism numbers, outperforming regional competition.
This achievement is due to increased air connectivity and focused marketing initiatives implemented across various countries.
These efforts target different market segments, effectively reaching audiences interested in specific experiences. The swift recovery post-pandemic, followed by an exceptional tourism performance, was made possible thanks to a collective effort that began in May 2022, when Malta reopened for tourism without travel restrictions.
Since then, VisitMalta's overseas marketing efforts have been tireless, with the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) working closely with industry stakeholders. These initiatives have been supported by tourism partners across Malta and Gozo, ensuring broad collaboration and shared success.
This is where the
International PR and Marketing Diary newsletter comes in.
The newsletter was born out of feedback from industry partners who highlighted the need for a more structured way to stay updated on the MTA’s overseas marketing and PR efforts. It serves as a bridge between MTA and Malta's tourism stakeholders, allowing them to align their marketing efforts with MTA’s strategies, thereby maximizing impact in the global tourism space
