The Malta Tourism Authority has officially
launched the second edition of the Malta
Tourism Awards, continuing its mission
to celebrate excellence, innovation and
sustainability across the local tourism sector.
This year's edition introduces an expanded range of
categories under the Responsible Tourism Development
Awards, allowing for more industry segments to be
recognised. These awards will honour outstanding
achievements in:
• Responsible Tourism Development Award-Best
English Language Learning
• Responsible Tourism Development Award-Best
Diving Centre
• Responsible Tourism Development Award-Best
Domestic Transport (including Land and Sea)
• Responsible Tourism Development Award-Best
Visitor Attraction
• Responsible Tourism Development Award-Best
Travel and Tourism Services
• Responsible Tourism Development Award-Best
Catering Establishment
• Responsible Tourism Development Award-Best
Accommodation (<75 bedrooms)
• Responsible Tourism Development Award-Best
Accommodation (>75 bedrooms)
To be eligible, submissions must address at least one of
the following key criteria:
1. Smart Tourism and Digitalisation
2. Human Resources Training and Upskilling
3. Sustainability and Decarbonisation
4. Innovation and Future Readiness
In addition, the prestigious Tourism Worker of the Year
award will once again shine a spotlight on individuals who
demonstrate outstanding service and dedication across
various sectors, including the below.
• Tourism Worker of the Year Award - Domestic
Transport (Land and Sea)
• Tourism Worker of the Year Award - English
Language Learning (Schools / Host Families)
• Tourism Worker of the Year Award - Diving Centres
• Tourism Worker of the Year Award - Visitor
Attractions
• Tourism Worker of the Year Award - Tourist Guides
• Tourism Worker of the Year Award - Travel and
Tourism Services (including Incoming Travel
Agencies, DMCs, and Excursion Organisers)

Applications for the Malta Tourism Awards 2025 are open
until January 31, 2026. The awards aim to recognise
and promote best practices that align with the strategic
direction of the tourism sector in Malta.
