It gives me great pleasure to share the latest developments shaping Malta’s tourism industry.
We are proud to announce the official launch of the new VisitMalta Incentives & Meetings website.
This platform has been created specifically for international planners, offering practical tools and insights to promote Malta as a premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions.
With state-of-the-art facilities, a dynamic cultural scene, and excellent connectivity, Malta continues to strengthen its position in the global business tourism arena.
We are also excited to introduce the second edition of the Malta Tourism Awards, now featuring additional categories under the Responsible Tourism Development Awards.
This broader framework allows for wider recognition across the industry: highlighting sustainability, innovation, community engagement, and service excellence.
It reflects our commitment to acknowledging the full spectrum of talent and effort that powers Malta’s tourism success.
One of the most esteemed honours remains the Tourism Worker of the Year Award, which celebrates individuals who exemplify dedication, passion, and excellence. Applications for this year’s awards are now open, and we strongly encourage nominations.
This is a unique opportunity to spotlight the individuals and teams whose contributions often go unsung but are fundamental to our industry’s continued growth and resilience.
In this edition, we also feature testimonials from previous award recipients. Their stories offer valuable insight into the impact of recognition and serve to inspire others within the tourism workforce to strive for excellence and innovation.
As always, we remain focused on building a sustainable, inclusive, and forward-looking tourism sector, one that reflects both Malta’s values and its evolving potential.

The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) was formally set up by the Malta Travel and Tourism Service Act (1999). This clearly defines its role - extending it beyond that of international marketing to include a domestic, motivating, directional, co-ordinating and regulatory role. The Act strengthens the public and private partnership in tourism through greater and more direct participation by the private sector in national planning and development of the industry.
