November 19, 2024The season of Summer may be edging towards its close, if I should be so lucky. The truth is that stifling heat tends to linger way beyond the end of September and often hangs around till Santa finalises his ‘to do’ list.
My way of beating its hotness will see me indulge in versions of pink, some still, others bubbly. Plus it’s also a good way to usher in the month of October.
DEUTZ BRUT ROSÉ

A blend of Uva di Troia, Viognier and Maresco, suitable for wine enthusiasts seeking a high-quality product with a distinct and refined flavour. After a peppery start, it then opens up, revealing a broad aromatic range of floral and fruity aromas. On the palate, the wine is silky and velvety with initial spicy perfume followed by a complex olfactory range of floral and fruity sensations.
Cuvée with delicate hints of summer fruit; Deutz Brut Rosé is adorned with a shimmering colour with pretty pink highlights supported by a delicate bubble. Ample and delectable, this cuvée with a round but well-asserted character is a call to indulgence. The subtle nose with notes of cherries, blackberries, pomegranates and redcurrants is nicely highlighted in the mouth by crunchy aromas of fresh strawberries and raspberries.

Henners Rosé NV is made from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, grown on both the estate’s own clay and neighbouring grower’s chalk soils which complement each other in terms of generosity and finesse.
The traditional saignée method is used to draw colour from the grapes at the pressing stage, delivering classic English red berry fruit flavours including raspberries and redcurrants. A minimum of 18 months ageing on the lees brings a delicate creaminess to the wine.

The wine is a very pale pink highlight, depending on the vintage, with golden, orange and even vermilion tints. Its bouquet reveals fresh fruit (mango, melon) punctuated with lemony notes.
