Planet Play is the newest
entertainment complex to hit
St Julian’s, located within Mercury
Towers.
And it’s certainly bringing a
first-of-its-kind experience to Malta,
with a diverse range of options
targeting adults and a children’s
zone where parents can leave their
little ones without any worries.
“Planet Play is a CF Ltd investment
that is being managed by Mercury
Towers, and we’re very happy to
be on board with this as it presents
a wholly new approach to mixing
retail with entertainment for adults,”
Mercury Towers Chief of Operations
Neal Debono starts off.
The idea, he continues, is to provide
families and groups an entertainment
hub where they can literally spend
an entire day if they choose to. And
with four distinct entertainment
areas, there’s plenty to do.
“Playtopia
has already proven to be a massive
success with parents. It’s a romparound area where young children
can use up their energies while the
parents enjoy some me-time, retail
therapy, a coffee with friends… The
big deal about it is its high safety and
hygiene certification.
We are very big
on this and parents have noticed this
important detail,” Debono states.
With Maltese parents quick to
recognise its merits, Playtopia has
already become Malta’s go-to
for birthday parties. What about
the adults? They won’t be left
hanging - there are three different
entertainment areas for the eternal
child in all of us.
“The first is Paradox,
a virtual reality and simulators area
that delivers unique experiences.” The
Arcade area complements this with
a multitude of games like billiards,
ice-hockey, table soccer and other
options both for single and team play.
Then there’s Elevate, a timed rope
course that is also unique in Malta.
The section has proven to be a hit
with team-buildings and group
outings.
“But our flagship attraction
is probably Velocity, a go-kart track
featuring some of the best electric
go karts. The experience is adrenalinfuelled, with almost 400 linear metres
worth of track, a lot chicanes, and a
lot of skill required,” Debono explains.
Championships are organised
regularly, and there’s also a separate
experience for the kids.
“There is so much to do that you can
easily make a day of it, so it delivers
very good value for money. You can
throw in some shopping, dinner at
the Daytona Diner, or at one of our
more upmarket options.” Part of its
success is that - perhaps contrary
to expectations - it’s very accessible
from a budget point of view.
Groups
are catered for specifically, with
customised packages that offer
excellent value-for-money”.
Even parking is included for free for all
customers. But you don’t need to be a
group to enjoy the value-for-money -
families will also find very good deals,
especially for Playtopia.
“We’ve now
started seeing families walking around
the area on Friday and Saturday
nights. This is something that you
wouldn’t have previously imagined in
Paceville, but we’ve created this sense
of safety, wellness and comfort within
the community,” Debono concludes
with satisfaction.
