Luce remains the flagship wine of
the estate, a bold and elegant blend
that revolutionised winemaking in
Montalcino. The vineyards, situated
at altitudes between 350 and 420
metres, provide the perfect terroir
for cultivating both Sangiovese and
Merlot. Aged for 24 months in oak
barriques, Luce is a wine of remarkable
complexity, offering aromas of ripe
blackberries, violets, and sweet
spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied,
structured, and refined, with velvety
tannins and a lingering finish.
Luce Brunello di Montalcino is a tribute to
Tuscany’s most celebrated varietal, made
from 100% Sangiovese sourced from
the estate’s prized 11-hectare vineyard
registered in the "Albo del Brunello di
Montalcino." The galestro-rich soil of the
‘Madonnino’ vineyard allows for a slow,
steady maturation, resulting in a wine of
elegance and depth. Aged meticulously
in oak, it displays a deep garnet hue and
captivating aromas of dried cherries,
tobacco, and balsamic notes. The palate
is refined and balanced, with silky tannins
and a long, harmonious finish.
Lux Vitis, meaning ‘light of the vine’ in
Latin, is an experimental and daring
expression of Cabernet Sauvignon in
Montalcino. The introduction of this
international varietal to the estate was
a bold move, but one that resulted in a
powerful and refined wine. Aged for 24
months in French oak, Lux Vitis reveals
deep layers of cassis, dark chocolate,
and graphite on the nose. The palate is
rich and structured, with firm yet polished
tannins leading to a persistent finish.
Lucente, the estate’s most contemporary
and approachable wine, is a vibrant blend
of Merlot and Sangiovese that showcases
Tenuta Luce’s craftsmanship in a fruit-
forward style. Sustainably farmed
vineyards southwest of Montalcino
contribute to its balance and freshness.
With bright ruby red tones, Lucente
exudes aromas of ripe plums, cherries,
and hints of mocha. The palate is silky
and well-rounded, with soft tannins and a
lingering finish of red fruits and vanilla. A
lifestyle image of the bottle paired with a
Tuscan feast would perfectly convey the
warmth and conviviality this wine brings.
