The sales team is headed by Massimo Bonarrigo, a Sicilian with more than 25 years experience in the catering industry. We met Massimo at his office in Balzan and he explains how ProKitchen has become a major player in a relatively short period of time.
ProKitchen import only equipment from premium Italian brands such as Olis, which caters for the top-of-the-range catering requirements, IFI for refrigerated counters, Frigomat specialising in ice-cream machines, Technodom and Technoinox.
They are aware that there are cheaper alternatives available, however they firmly believe that the serious restaurateur will see and understand the cost effectiveness and the value of the top-quality products.
This concept is highlighted with an example of an ice cream counter, which initiates a defrosting mechanism by calculating the number of times the counter door is opened. This ‘intelligent’ calculation can save the cafeteria or restaurant owner hundreds of Euros in ice-cream wastage.
Other advantages of dealing with Italian companies include a ten-year warranty on parts and the quick delivery time when any parts are needed urgently. In some cases, ProKitchen can also offer kitchen equipment in customised colours.
ProKitchen offer new clients a comprehensive business proposal which includes not only an itemised quotation of the proposed products but also consultancy, an in-depth study to understand the customers’ needs, food cost, a 3D render of the kitchen equipment and more.
It comes as no surprise that this work ethos has generated so much business in a relatively short period of time.
ProKitchen’s client base include ITS, McDonalds, St James Hospital, Riviera Hotel and Radisson Hotel, TexMex restaurants and the recently opened Carob Tree Food Court in Spinola.
ProKitchen have also installed several equipment in a number of establishments within the AX Group, including Hilltop Gardens, Suncrest Hotel and all kitchen equipment at the new 5-star Saint John Hotel in Valletta.
ProKitchen will next year expand its operations in the non-food sector with Italian brand Gibam, a global leader in the business of shopfittings and shop design, offering every possible kind of shopfitting and dedicated furniture to all kinds of retailers, including fashion outlets, pharmacies, bakeries, perfumeries and much more.
Moreover, the company will offer a range of services that make a holistic approach to the retail world - design of commercial interiors, creation of shop formats, logistics, assembling and installation.
