Prime Minister Robert Abela and Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo visited the Grands Suites Hotel in the heart of Gżira following a massive investment of €45 million.
During the visit, Prime Minister Robert Abela had the opportunity to meet with the company’s management and several workers who have chosen a career in the field of hospitality. Dr Abela also noted the strong confidence that the Maltese entrepreneur has in our country through the resilience he continued to show in international circumstances that brought great challenges.
This context of trust in our country has been further confirmed by figures released by the National Statistics Office which showed a strong sense of optimism for the time to come. In fact, between January and November 2022 the number of tourists visiting our country was around 2.2 million tourists; very close to that of 2019 where it was considered a record year in tourism.
The managing director of the hotel, Mr Marvin Spiteri, reciprocated this same trust in our country by showing his appreciation of the support he received continuously from all the authorities concerned so that this project could be completed and successful.
“We are very proud of the completion of this project with an investment of €45 million. We are now looking forward to offering a quality tourism product in our country to everyone who chooses to visit the beauty our country has to offer”, said Mr Spiteri.
The aim behind this 231-room hotel was to offer different hospitality with the aim of making tourists who choose this accommodation use of the quality services offered by the Grands Suites Hotel. Each room has the kitchen facility and on each floor there is the washing service as if the resident is living in his or her home anyway.
