How ProKitchen helped build a space
that brings employees together.
For GO, Malta’s leading communications
company, the creation of the new GO Campus
in Żejtun was far more than a relocation.
It
was a transformation: the development of a
modern, people-centred hub designed to bring
teams together and reflect GO’s values of collaboration,
sustainability, and innovation.
Leading this major initiative was Ian Camilleri, Senior
Manager of Facilities & Administration Operations at GO.
His role placed him at the centre of the project, from early
planning to delivering the final environment that hundreds
of GO employees now call their professional home.
“The aim was not just to build an office,” he explains. “We
wanted a campus that genuinely supports people: spaces
that help them feel connected, able to collaborate, but
also comfortable enough to focus and do their best work.”
This vision required rethinking every aspect of the
workplace, including an area that often goes unnoticed in
corporate environments but makes a tremendous impact
on employee wellbeing: the catering and kitchen facilities.
“From the outset we made sure that our catering setup
is of the same standard as the rest of the campus,” Ian
explains. “A well-designed, efficient catering area has
a huge influence on the everyday experience. It’s where
people connect throughout the day, and it deserved
thoughtful attention.”
With this in mind, GO began assessing potential partners
specialised in professional catering environments.
ProKitchen quickly emerged as a leading candidate.
“ProKitchen was already well-known in the industry, so
they naturally appeared during our supplier review,”
Ian recalls.
“What truly stood out was their practical
understanding of how catering services operate within a
corporate setting.”
From early layout studies to equipment selection,
ProKitchen became a reliable partner throughout
the process. Their strength was not just in supplying
equipment, but in translating GO’s operational needs into
a functional, future-ready design.
“They were responsive, communicative, and proactive,”
Ian says. “They collaborated seamlessly with our internal
team and with all the contractors on site.
That level of
coordination was essential to maintaining momentum
and delivering on time.”
ProKitchen’s expertise proved especially valuable during
the workflow planning stage.
Understanding peak times,
staff movement, cleaning routines, and food-service
logistics allowed them to design a space that performs
efficiently every single day.
Their recommendations
balanced durability, energy efficiency, and ease
of maintenance - key priorities for a facility used
continuously by hundreds of employees every day.
Today, the catering area forms part of a welcoming
central hub where colleagues naturally gather, connect,
and recharge and is an integral part within the GO
Campus.
“The new setup has had a remarkable impact,” Ian
shares. “People interact more, the flow between spaces
is intuitive, and the environment is easier to manage
operationally.
The catering facilities have improved
the workplace atmosphere significantly.”
Feedback from employees has been overwhelmingly positive. Staff appreciate both the functionality and the thoughtful design, which contribute to a sense of comfort and pride. Management sees the upgrade as a strong reflection of GO’s commitment to employee wellbeing.
“This project is an investment in our people and our future,” Ian emphasises. “When people feel supported and connected to their environment, they perform at their best.”
For GO, the partnership with ProKitchen was a key element of this success. Their continued after-sales support and immediate availability during the transition phase ensured that everything functioned as intended from day one.
When asked what sets ProKitchen apart, Ian is clear: “Their ability to integrate smoothly into a complex project, adapt to challenges, and communicate clearly made all the difference. They’re not just suppliers, they’re collaborators.”
And his advice for other businesses considering a kitchen upgrade? “Start with understanding daily workflows. The right design and reliable, efficient equipment can completely transform how people experience a space.”
