An agreement was signed between the Institute for Tourism Studies (ITS) and the Bella Vista Institute of Higher Education Switzerland (BVIS) through which the same Swiss institution will offer training programs offered by the ITS which include courses of Bachelor and Masters in International Hospitality Management.
These courses are expected to start being offered in Switzerland from next year and the two respective institutions are in advanced discussions to have more similar educational programs in the coming years.
The Bella Vista Institute of Higher Education Switzerland is an international center associated with the academy of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on behalf of Switzerland.
These details were announced during the signing of this agreement by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo, in the presence of the CEO of ITS Pierre Fenech and the President of BVIS Istvan Ujhelyi.
Minister Clayton Bartolo stressed that this agreement in itself is testimony to the high level of interest in the study programs that ITS is offering not only locally but also on an international scale.
“This agreement goes hand in hand with the government’s strategy to make ITS a center of excellence in the Mediterranean for hospitality and tourism studies. The internalization of this institute will not only include the ambition for international students to come to Malta to study locally, but also for education offered in our country to run on an international platform,” pointed out Minister Bartolo.
Meanwhile, the CEO of ITS Pierre Fenech and the President of BVIS Istvan Ujhelji reiterated their commitment to bring these educational institutions closer to each other to strengthen cooperation in tourism education between Malta and Switzerland. .
