Q: What trends are shaping Malta’s tourism, and how is Hilton adapting?
A: We’re seeing a rise in blended travel, where business and leisure merge. MICE clients now expect more than just meeting space – they want experiential and sustainable events. Leisure travellers are seeking short, culture-rich, wellness-focused stays, with deeper engagement in local life.

At Hilton, we’re adapting by embedding local culture into our offerings – from authentic culinary experiences and curated local excursions to wellness packages inspired by Mediterranean living. Guests want more than a room – they want meaningful, sustainable connections to place.

Q: How is Hilton attracting and retaining talent in Malta’s competitive hospitality market?
A: Our people are our greatest strength. We focus on structured career growth, continuous training, and fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace. Hospitality can be demanding, so we invest in creating a positive environment, celebrating achievements, and promoting work-life balance.

We offer fair pay, strong benefits, and development opportunities. We also engage with the community and support sustainability projects, giving our team a sense of pride and purpose. Investing in young talent is key to building Malta’s hospitality future.

Q: How do Hilton Malta and DoubleTree reflect Maltese culture and identity?
A: We balance Hilton’s global standards with a genuine sense of place. Guests are welcomed in Maltese, surrounded by locally inspired design, and can enjoy traditional flavours with a modern twist. Our recent venues, Sabi and Kora, showcase this blend beautifully.

We collaborate with local artists, source ingredients from Maltese producers, and incorporate native plants in landscaping. Every detail is intentional – to create a guest experience that’s both globally polished and locally rooted.

Q: How are sustainability and eco-consciousness integrated into Hilton’s operations in Malta?
A: Sustainability is central to our operations, aligned with Hilton’s Travel with Purpose vision. We’ve invested in solar panels, energy-efficient systems, filtered drinking water in every guest room at Hilton and water reuse initiatives. Through LightStay, we track and reduce our environmental footprint.

We’ve phased out most single-use plastics, source locally to cut carbon emissions, and involve our teams in environmental clean-ups and community outreach. Sustainability isn’t an add-on – it’s embedded in how we operate and welcome guests every day.
