Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in hospitality/
tourism/culinary arts?
A: My family is my inspiration. I was drawn to this life
as a child. Growing up seeing family members working
in the kitchen/bakery, it became clear that this was the
career path for me. I am eager to continue learning and to
hopefully become a pastry chef.
Q: What specific skills have you developed that you
believe will set you apart in the industry?
A: I am passionate about cooking and baking. I am also
very willing to learn, and am always open to feedback
and tips on how to improve. I’m continuously appreciating
valuable hands-on learning and career advice.
Q: What do you think are the biggest opportunities for
growth in the hospitality and tourism sectors?
A: In my opinion the biggest opportunities for growth
in the hospitality and tourism sector are expanding
internationally and investing in staff development and
training.
Q: What challenges do you think the hospitality
industry will face in the coming years?
A: Hotels being run by AI, inflation, difficulty keeping
competitive prices and cyber security concerns.
Q: How do you plan to make a positive impact on the
hospitality industry, either locally or globally?
A: In several ways. By using guests’ feedback to always
help me improve and grow. By trying to offer suggestions
about how we can adapt menus, and even by ensuring
we use seasonal ingredients thus reducing the carbon
footprint associated with out-of-season produce (which
should be avoided).
